DAY 1:  AUGUST 18, 2018

This Nova Scotia tour will have you breathing Atlantic Canada’s very own fresh salt air, viewing unspoiled scenery, learning the rich history and experiencing the warm hospitality.  Accommodations this evening will be in Edmundston, New Brunswick.  (D)

DAY 2:  AUGUST 19, 2018

Check out of the hotel this morning to continue to Wolfville, Nova Scotia where you will be accommodated at the Old Orchard Inn and Spa.  Enjoy the panoramic views from this conveniently located hotel in the scenic Annapolis Valley.  The evening will be free to enjoy as you wish.  (B, D)

DAY 3:  AUGUST 20, 2018

This morning you will start your day with a visit to the Grand Pré UNESCO Heritage Site.  The site commemorates the Grand Pré area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755 and the deportation of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762.  Continue to Digby where you will see the Point Prim Lighthouse.  Enjoy spectacular views over the Bay of Fundy from the grounds.  Drive past Trinity Anglican Church before making your way to Lunenberg.  Trinity Anglican Church is located on a hillside on the corner of Mount and Queen Streets in Digby, overlooking the waterfront area of the town. This wooden Gothic Revival style church was built in 1878.  Accommodations this evening will be at the Best Western Plus Bridgewater for your two nights stay.  (B)

Day 4:  AUGUST 21, 2018

Return to the scenic South Shore to the town of Lunenburg, once one of the top wooden ship building centres in North America.   With an extraordinary number of buildings remaining from the 1760s, and the streets still following the original town plan, this led to the Old Town area being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.  Visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic where the numerous displays will help you gain an understanding of Atlantic Canada’s commercial fishing history.  During your visit, talk with boat builders in the boat shop, tour the Grand Banks schooner Theresa E Conner, or see the world’s largest collection of Bluenose artifacts.  This afternoon you will enjoy a whale watching cruise.  Pack the binoculars and camera and prepare for an unparalleled ocean adventure in hopes to see fin, pilot, minke and the favoured humpback whales.  There are dolphins, ocean sun fish, giant blue fin tuna and leatherback turtles, puffins, razorbills, and more!  Should the seas be too rough, Capt. Flower will conduct an informative tour of historic Lunenburg Harbour and the nearby Ovens Natural Park.  The rugged coast is spectacular and the sea caves at the park are something to behold.  (B)

DAY 5:  AUGUST 22, 2018

Travel the coast from Lunenburg to Mahone Bay and then onto Halifax.  Enjoy beautiful scenery and the rugged coast.  Visit Peggy’s Cove, a beacon photographed like no other.  Peggy’s Cove is a vibrant fishing village.  Built in 1915, Peggy’s Point Lighthouse continues to keep watch over surging ocean waves and working lobster boats.  Scramble over giant rocks worn smooth by the sea and share in the view.  Accommodations this evening will be at the Delta Halifax.  (B)

DAY 6:  AUGUST 23, 2018

Today you will enjoy a tour of this historic port city of Halifax.  Hear stories of Halifax during the war years, including the Halifax Explosion and the city’s role in the recovery operations after the Titanic disaster.  The tour will include the waterfront, historic downtown, St. Paul’s Church, the universities, shopping and residential areas.  Make a photo stop up Citadel Hill and take a stroll through the Halifax Public Gardens, a fine example of Victorian landscaping.  Enjoy lunch on your own in historic downtown Halifax before continuing to Baddeck, a bustling village that maintains it’s essence as a quaint community.  Baddeck is situated in the heart of Cape Breton Island and considered to be at the beginning of the world-famous Cabot Trail.  (B, D)

DAY 7:  AUGUST 24, 2018

Enjoy a scenic drive along The Cabot Trail taking you around the greater part of Nova Scotia's Cape Breton Island, one of the most famous drives in Canada.  Cape Breton Highlands National Park is one of Canada’s most enchanting places, where the mountains meet the sea.  Cape Breton Highlands National Park is a vast region that protects majestic hills, deeply-cut river glens and spectacular ocean scenery.  Make your way to Truro where you will enjoy your final overnight in the province of Nova Scotia!  Tonight, you will be accommodated at the Holiday Inn Truro.  (B, D)

DAY 8:  AUGUST 25, 2018

Check out of the hotel this morning to begin making your way home.  Accommodations this evening will be in Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec where you will overnight.  (B, D)

DAY 9:  AUGUST 26, 2018

This morning you will check out of the hotel to continue the final lag of your journey home.  An early evening return is anticipated.  (B)
