DAY 1:  SEPTEMBER 23, 2024

This tour will take you back to a much simpler time.  It’s a destination to leave you breathless and with lasting memories.  You will visit the homes and businesses of the Amish and Mennonite allowing you the first- hand opportunity to experience and learn the faith, culture, traditions, values, and lifestyles.  Accommodations for the next four nights will be at the Comfort Suites Berlin, Ohio.  This hotel is located in the heart of Amish Country.  Meet new friends as you relax on the porch and treasure a glimpse into the world of the Amish. 

DAY 2:  SEPTEMBER 24, 2024

This morning you will visit the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. Experience Behalt and see the 265- foot cyclorama giving you history and explains about Amish and Mennonites.  Stop at Coblentz Leather, where they make leather products such as bags, belts, wallets and more!  Each product is carefully cut, stitched, and finished by their own experienced craftspeople.  Next is Hershberger Farm and Bakery.  Enjoy an animal petting area, general farm store, buggy rides, a bakery and bulk food store.  Lunch will be on your own.  Continue to Keim Lumber for a guided tour and it is much more than just a lumber yard.  For those wishing to browse some quilting shops, we can make that happen instead!  You will see the world’s largest cuckoo clock and the opportunity to browse some shops in Sugarcreek.  What you have been all waiting for, a visit to an Amish Farm for dinner is included tonight!  (B, D)

DAY 3:  SEPTEMBER 25, 2024

Today you will visit an Amish home.  Stop by Lamp and Light Candle, where you will see a candle-making demonstration.  Next, you will enjoy a guided tour of David Warther Carvings. You will see over 90 carvings made of antique ivory, ebony wood and abalone pearl.  David Warther works daily in his on-site workshop, where he regularly demonstrates carving techniques and tools.  Visit Walnut Creek Cheese, a large bulk food and general store.  Step back in time on a horse drawn wagon ride, where you can feed the animals off the wagon, plus tour several houses.  For the chocolate-lovers craving quality, that’s an element Coblentz Chocolate emphasizes.  Fresh, local cream and butter are used in their confections, as well as a high percent of cocoa butter, which sets them apart from other.  You will not be disappointed!  (B, D)

DAY 4:  SEPTEMBER 26, 2024

Watch the cheese making process and shop the dozens of cheese varieties for sale at Heini’s Cheese.  Next, you will visit Anna Petersheim where you can purchase her handmade baskets and other crafts.  Lehman’s Hardware was voted best destination in Amish country.  This place has everything and anything you could imagine and is way more than just a hardware store!  You will then visit P Graham Dunn, a beautiful store famous for its inspirational arts, gifts and home décor.  At Ashery Country Store you will be in complete awe with the bulk food variety available.  This is the grandma of bulk food stores and a fine spot to grab an ice cream cone!  (B, D)

DAY 5:  SEPTEMBER 27, 2024

This morning you will check out of the hotel before making a quick visit to Miller's Bakery, a backroad Amish bakery where the aroma of baked goods greets you as you step off the coach.  Following the bakery visit, you will depart for home with a much better understanding of a simpler life!  Return home will be early evening with many fond memories of one of the largest Amish settlements in the world!  (B)
