DAY 1:  SEPTEMBER 23, 2019
This is an experience you will truly never forget.  Get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy insider perspectives on the ways of life and history of the Amish and Mennonite.  Visit an Amish home, see handmade demonstrations, and enjoy good old-fashioned Amish meals.  Capture the beauty of the season along backroads where you will see rolling hills and well cared for farmsteads.  Accommodations for the next four nights will be at the Comfort Inn Berlin, Ohio.  This hotel is located in the heart of Amish Country.  Meet new friends as you relax on the porch and treasure a glimpse into the world of the Amish.

DAY 2:  SEPTEMBER 24, 2019
A local guide will meet the group again this morning for another day of sightseeing and experience the Amish heritage and traditions first hand.  Today you will visit the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center.  See Behalt, a 10 ft tall x 265 ft long cyclorama or mural-in-the-round illustrating the heritage of the Amish and Mennonite people from their Anabaptist beginnings in Zurich, Switzerland in 1525 to the present day.  The local guide will take us along backroads to an Amish home.  Enjoy buggy rides, lunch on your own, craft and antique malls all at Shrock’s Amish Farm.  This afternoon will be filled with hands on experiences.  Put your own topping on a muffin candle at Mary’s Candle and dip your own chocolates at Troyer’s Candies.  Enjoy a n included pretzel and time on your own for shopping in Berlin or return to the hotel and relax before experiencing an Amish Wedding Feast.  The room will be set just like a wedding has just taken place and you may be selected from our group to sit at the main table.  One couple will be the bride and groom, the other two couples will be the witness couples.  (B, D)

DAY 3:  SEPTEMBER 25, 2019
Visit and Amish home for breakfast before stopping in Sugarcreek to see the world’s largest coocoo clock.  Next is the Mooney Warther’s Museum.  Unlike any other in the world, this museum showcases sixty-four of Ernest Warther’s ebony, ivory, and walnut hand-carved masterpieces.  In addition to his carvings, see his wife Frieda’s 73,000-piece button collection, swiss-style gardens and 5,500-piece Native American arrowhead collection.  Stop by and visit Ada the broom maker before time at your leisure in the village of Charm.  Charm is home to Keim Lumber, Millers Dry Goods and Quilts, Nature’s, Charm Shoe and Gift, Carpenters’ Café and more!  Finish your day with dinner at an Amish home and homemade ice cream on the front porch of the hotel.  (B, D)

DAY 4:  SEPTEMBER 26, 2019

Depart the hotel this morning with a local guide and head to Mattie’s Baskets.  This is a demonstration held right at Mattie’s home where you will meet Mattie (and often her children) and watch her make her beautiful hand-woven baskets.  Next is P. Graham Dunn, a one-of-of-a-kind shopping experience offering a wide selection of high quality wood décor and gifts.  Tour Pioneer Equipment, an Amish business making horse drawn farm implements.  Believe it or not from past experiences both men and women thoroughly enjoy this inclusion!  Next you will tour the production and sales area of local Amish made furniture.  Experience a “Church Lunch”, a light lunch which is typically served at Amish Church lunches.  This afternoon you will visit Coblentz Leather and Heini’s Cheese House.  This evening you will visit another Amish home.  (B, L, D)

DAY 5:  SEPTEMBER 27, 2019

This morning you will check out of the hotel before making a quick visit to Hershberger Bakery.  Sample the best baked goods at an Amish bakery featuring their famous fry pies, stuffed cookies, cream sticks, breads, and more!  Following the bakery visit you will depart for home with a much better understanding of a simpler life!  Take home some homemade treats!  Return home will be early evening with many fond memories of one of the largest Amish settlements in the world!  (B)
